The International Observatory to Monitor and Document Human Rights Violations handed over to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) a report detailing the arbitrary arrests, torture and gross human rights violations committed by the police in Iran.

In its letter to the High Commissioner, the ” Observatory” expressed its deep concern about the extent of human rights violations in Iran against the backdrop of international calls on the Iranian authorities to respect human rights and abide by international covenants and conventions.

The Observatory confirmed that the Iranian police authorities continued to use the death penalty against juvenile children at a pace that appeared hasty as well as the suppression of freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly, and the imposition of harsh sentences on prisoners and against peaceful activists and human rights defenders, in addition to the spread of the phenomenon of torture spread in the security centers of the police and military in Iran where there is still the imposition and implementation of skin and cutting hands and other harsh penalties on criminal backgrounds.

In addition, human rights defenders in Iran face reprisals by the Iranian authorities, which have led to the arrest of many of them and the fabrication of false accusations and punishments reached the death penalty, the Iranian authorities continue their blatant interference in the affairs of countries, including "Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and the Arab Gulf States" by providing armed groups with weapons and funds and generous support to some institutions and associations artificially to falsify the facts before the international community.

On the basis of these grave violations by the Iranian authorities at home and abroad, the International Observatory to Monitor and Document Human Rights Violations called yesterday in his report and his special message to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad al-Hussein to play a decisive role in highlighting violations Which is taking place in Iran and documenting it and working with international bodies to hold the Iranian authorities accountable and to bring the perpetrators of those violations and those implicated in them to international prosecution, where the violations are most severe.
